I liked the idea of the story a lot but I would have liked more! I also am not a huge fan of the individual sentences broken into their own paragraphs, especially because normally 3+ sentence comprise a paragraph. So just switch that about and add in some more of this -- maybe hint on his transformation or what other boogeymen can do!
