I am glad that John is standing up for Libby against his stuck up girlfriend.
I also get the feeling that his girlfriend is trying to drive a wedge between John and Libby.
Since she saw Libby kiss John though John can't remember anything and Libby understands why his girlfriend is bitching all the time.
