Out of all of this, the part I loved most was the description of Ryan and Brendon thinking as adults or children and then acting another way. It was brilliant and spot on for the both of them.
It is truly amazing how you can paint such a vivid picture with words. That description of the sky was truly gorgeous. However, I thought these lines beat even that.
They were children. Nineteen and twenty and no one near as old as they thought they were. One thought like he was older and acted like a child if you were quiet enough. One thought like a child and acted like an adult if he loved you enough. Dress up for grown ups. We're all something we think we're not and vice versa.
I think you just summed up how all teenagers and young adults feel in one simple paragraph. This applies to myself and to almost everyone I know. Those lines just felt so profound to me. This entire story was so beautiful and you perfectly captured one snapshot in their relationship. Yet another gorgeous story. (:
Dru, you have no idea how much I missed your stories. That first paragraph is golden. Fucking golden. The description of the sky is brilliant and so fanciful.
It was the last safe place on earth, Brendon's voice singing his words. This has got to be one of my favorite lines ever.
