So, let me just say that your attention to detail and correlation between seasons is impeccable. That's one of the things I look for first when I see Supernatural fanfics run across my screen.
Also I love the fact that this is Dean and Lisa. As it should be. No after the fact OC pairing. Dean's keeping his promise to Sam, just as he would in the show. I instantly got excited when I read that it was him and Lisa together, so major props, as a fan of the show. :D
Now then, your description at the beginning and the characterizations are spot on. Obviously you watch the show, and you translate the characters very well. Dean acted as Dean should. His protectiveness was so touching.
Let me say this:
The portion with Samantha made me crry.
I began tearing up as soon as Dean recalled the loss of Sam, but then you went into a beautiful description of this sweet child that he clearly loves more than his own life. It was so touching, and I could see it so clearly, that the tears just came.
