I'm in love with this. Just. In love. I haven't found a good Green Day story, well, ever, basically. So you're my new hero now.

Your writing baffles me. Are you a professional? (No, seriously; I don't ask that as a form of compliment.) Your imagery had a clarity that I haven't seen in fanfic...ever. Your style is much more thoughtful, daring, and enjoyable than 99.9% of fic, let alone fanfic. The last time I got such a thorough picture that wasn't obscured by dialogue was in reading Steinbeck's "Cannery Row." It's reminded me of the importance of narrative, and not to get bogged down in all the dialogue.

When I got the e-mail notification that you'd posted, I dropped everything to come read...and I'm glad I did. You convey the pain that Tré feels, coupled with the obliviousness and confusion Billie feels so well that I actually become frustrated with the two of them. I never disliked Annabelle, but now I find myself thinking that she better stay the hell away from Billie Joe, even though she hasn't done anything blameworthy. Neither has Billie. I'd hoped the kiss that the two men shared would finally break open the feelings Tré had bottled up, but I think the denial and regret made things worse and brought the unbearable feelings poor Tré had to a whole different--and much worse--level. It's sad how he now seems to think himself more a coward than before.

Keep writing...faster! I agree that this was a great chapter.
