so my comment didn't work as planned. for italicized, [ i ] but without the spaces. to stop italicizing, [ / i ] again without the spacea. bold is [ b ] without the spaces, to stop bold, [ b ] of course, without those spaces.

to italicize, you type then what you want italicized. then when you're done, and want normal text again.
for bold, , then.
