Wow, you're updating so quickly, it's lovely. I just wanted to mention that I love your titles, and how well they fit in with the story. Of course it's purposeful, but I just love them :3 This chapter was amazing, as usual. You're a brilliant writer. I am still freaking out about the whole note business. Who could have sent that?!
The only person that comes to mind is that blonde chick Tanya who teased Scarlett as she has a grudge on her, but she's not clever enough to do something like that, haha.
Clyde wouldn't do that, he's amazing and I love him so much. He's so protective of Scarlett, argh.
It could be Scarlett's mother, but she doesn't want anything to do with her so I doubt it.
Goddarn it. All the suspense. It's killing me slowly.
I laid my hand on my stomach, hoping to prevent it from shaking, "See, Bean, your daddy is more of a hormonal mess than me."
This made me laugh. It's true, Jack is freaking out worse than Scarlett is, and she's the only who's pregnant. :D
"Out doing what I'm excellent at."
"Having a homosexual relationship with a flying rat?" I asked him, faking innocence.
This joke will never get old. Ever. It's too priceless and hilarious.
"Where's the fucking ashtray..."
"Jack, are you mad at me?" I questioned as I watched him search all over the room for the ashtray, throwing random things here and there in frustration.
This made me a little sad, I don't want Jack to be mad at her! Also, I don't know if I've mentioned this before but you write dialogue spectacularly well, it's just all so realistic and I can picture it clearly, even the tone of her voice and the pause when she says "...Jack?"
You also write Joker dialouge really really well, it's fantastic. Especially all of his mutterings and mumblings, like "Where's the fucking ashtray..."
It's just all so real and makes the story so vivid and amazing and argh. Your Joker portrayal is awesome.
I'm an emotion wreck, he's an emotional roller coaster. He was mentally disturbed, I was just mental. Our kid will have promising parents.
Is it bad that this made me laugh? :3 I'm still very curious about the kid. Do we know if it's a boy or a girl yet? >.> Because I want to know. I also want to see how s/he turns out, with such promising parents, haha.
Without think, I grabbed the ashtray and chucked it at him. I didn't mean to hit him, I really didn't mean to hit him. I saw the ashtray fall to the ground, Jack gripping his forehead.
This scene reminded me so much of that movie with Heath Ledger in it. Was it Candy? I think it was Candy. I felt so bad for him, like Oh God no he's bleeding shit I'm freaking out here. Noooooo Jack.
Although he was being a total prick, and stressing out Scarlett when the doctor specifically told him not to stress her out when she's pregnant and so emotional. He had it coming, basically.
Plus, if this relationship weren't in the slightest way dysfunctional I don't think he would be in it in the first place.
I found this to be a lovely way to end the chapter. You always seem to do that, end chapters on little insightful, almost philosophical notes, it's wonderful. I'm just remembering this on the top of my head, but at some points in Daddy's Little Scar you said:
"It's good to live on the edge of insanity."
"If there was a hell, there would be a chair with my name scrawled all over it. But that would be fine, as long as he was sitting next to me."
"He was hauntingly handsome, frighteningly appealing. Perfectly imperfect."
They're always so beautiful and I just love them so so much. No idea why, but they're gorgeous.
I probably quoted them all wrong though, sorry! :)
Anyway, I loved this chapter, you're a terrific writer, update soon!
Is it bad to assume that Harley Quinn sent the note, the woman seems obsessed, who knows.
Can't wait for the 'not your dad' part to reoccur, an interesting story and set up.
Please continue.
