Winter Winds - Comments

  • I am in love with this story and all of the characters in it. You did a great job of bringing life to all of the characters. Everyone from Jessie to Jane is so beautifully detailed and the dialog is perfect. I swear it is comparable to Hemingway. I really want to read more about Tomas and beyond curious of what you want to happen next. If you have a soul, you will continue writing this or I will just die. I am so glad Comment Swap brought me here. Please, please, please continue.

  • This story is enchanting. I absolute adore how you've managed to keep the language and dialogue both modern and Victorian, simultaneously, making it readable and fantastical at the same time. Jessamine is a wonderful character; proper and rebellious at the same time, struggling between suppressing her feelings and submitting to them. It's clichéd, but you write it so well that it's forgotten. Thomas is also a wonderful character; fierce and romantic, not caring about class or society. Your first chapter, with the convent and your description, is fantastic, and a great way to start the story. It really gives a feel of the world you're trying to convey. I really love this story, and can't wait for more. I'm glad Comment Swap brought me here. You're a great writer, keep it up :)

  • I love this story so much, I have no idea why it doesn't have a million comments on it already. I really like stories that are set back in early London and have classes and big balls and gah. I love it.

Your plot does seem a little cliche though, so I'd be careful of that. The way you've written it so far has kept it interesting and set it apart from other stories like this I've read, but I'd hate to see it become like everything else, you know?

I really like Jessamine's name and character; she's very realistic and relatable, which is always hard to get in a character, I've found. I also really like Thomas. He reminds me of my best friend which is really cool aha.

Everything about the story so far I love. You use dialogue very well and don't go overboard with it, and your descriptions are very lovely. I look forward to reading more!
