Oh goodness this was....I don't even know. It was wonderful, but that word doesn't seem good enugh. Anyway, I was hooked from the beginning because I am a sucker for stories where two people are mourning the loss of someone and help each other grieve but end up falling in love along the way (I suppose that's kind of morbid that I enjoy stories like that but I can't help it hahaha).
I loved how Frances asked John if he'd change meeting Jana if he had the choice. I loved even more how he said he wouldn't because, even though he was sad now, the happy times were worth it. I really like the quote, "Never regret what once made you smile," and that worked with Frances' question and John's answer.
The ending was absolutely perfect. I was yelling at Frances (in my head of course because my roommate is in the room haha) for just leaving and not talking to John. Then John chaisng her down and his little speech almost made me cry. It's pathetic that almost made me cry. I mean it's kind of late so that could be part of it but it was so sweet that I definitely teared up. Then the way you incorporated the quote plus that last sentence about life being funny just tied the quote and the story in even more.
Basically, I loved this story. Thanks for entering!
