An unexpected ending but definitely fitting for their relationship.

The ending definitely fit their relationship; sudden and last minute decision. I liked it:)

It feels a bit abrupt, but I think it's a fitting ending to the story. You know they can work the rest out because they love each other and the distance has been taken care of. I admire Loren for having the balls to quit like that.
    Great story!

Loren is still mourning her mother - and has kinda idealized her memory. It would be very hard for anything or anyone to live up to that. But I think that Loren has to realize that eventually there comes a time to move on - and that doesn't mean that she forgets her mom, it just means she needs to open her heart and truly let someone in. It appears that her Dad has done that, so maybe it is finally time for her too.

Loren has thrown herself into her work and I think it is to avoid true emotional intimacy. She has felt so abandoned since her mother's death that she really didn't want to let someone in for fear of experiencing the gut-wrenching loss again.

I think she needs to really listen to her heart and follow what it says. And I think she will find that all the roads lead out of Philly and straight to Pittsburgh.

Oh, man, I think she needs to say 'fuck you' to the job. THey aren't allowed to tell her who she can and cannot date.

On the plus side, kitten therapy! Good for what ails ya!

I finally got a chance to read the most recent chapter and loved it!
Loren needs to make a decision. If she loves Sid as much as she says then she needs to make a compromise. I'm sure she could get a job similar to what she has closer to Sid. A relationship needs a lot of work and that distance and the fact she's at the Flyers doesn't help that. Hopefully this works out.

Loren, having watched her parents love each other and lose that too soon, should know better than most how precious love is. It should never be taken for granted, because we never know how long we will have it. I hope Loren realizes this soon, because Sarah is right, no matter how much Sid loves her, there is only so long you can fight for someone who isn't will to fight for you.

she doesn't have to work for him. Surely he has people, she can work for them. Alternately, he starts a company, a brand, god knows he could (has?) easily, and she could do the pr for that!

I actually like that's there's a lot of drama between Sidney and Loren. For starters any relationship is not in a good place all the time. Then for this on top of that being in a relationship with Sidney Crosby would not be easy (like you said).

I'm really enjoying how you're writing this story and am interested to see how it all goes from here!

I like that things with Loren and Sid are not all perfect - because they are both imperfect people in an imperfect world. How could they be expected, under these circumstances, to have a perfect relationship?

Loren has a lot of issues that she has to deal with in terms of her mother's death and I think that Sidney is understanding that her reactions to their relationship have really very little to do with him. But now, with her career being put in jeopardy again - directly or indirectly because of him - he is going to have to allow her space to deal with it. Sid is going to have to let her maintain some feelings of control, or if she feels out of control, Loren will start to push him away again.

But being in a relationship with someone as high profile as Sidney would be difficult under the best of circumstances. Loren, being in PR, had to know that eventually she would be "outed" and she would have to deal with the trolls on the internet, and all the shit they would stir up. She now has to do some damage control and muddle through things the best she can. Because ultimately, for Loren, I don't think giving up Sidney is an option. Besides, I think he would fight for her - fight for them!

Perfect only exists in fairy tales - and the bumps and blemishes that you have written into this story is what makes it real and interesting. Keep to true to your characters - you have done a great job so far!

There is always two sides to everything. I think both Sid and Loren need to listen to each other and find out what each one is scared or unsure of. They need to meet somewhere in the middle otherwise nothing will ever work out between them. I hope they do sort everything out but I'm sure it won't be easy.

I'm still really enjoying reading this story :)

It sounds to me like Loren is frightened of being hurt again - of being vulnerable. Her mother's death left her devastated - she was like her best friend and when she died, it left Loren feeling lost. That is why Loren has always tried to maintain ultimate control - in her career, in her emotions and now in her personal relationships.

By the way Loren is treating Sidney right now is that she is emotionally pushing him away - having him kept at a distance so she wont be dependent upon him for anything. So then she cant be hurt. But in reality she is almost testing him, seeing if he will really leave, or prove he loves her enough to never leave her.

And I think Sid does love her enough - it is just that he is pretty new to the relationship game and Loren's stubbornness may just end up pushing him too far.
