I'm here as a judge for the Three Elements and a Song contest.

I liked that you were able to incorporate all of the elements and the song so effortlessly. It didn't feel like you were awkwardly trying to make sure everything and made it very natural to read, which I appreciated. I thought you captured the feeling of being in a long distance relationship really well. As someone who has been in two, both because of school, I really felt like I could related to what the characters were going through. The part that was talking about how they just fell back into their normal rhythm after being apart for so long was great, I really liked that you included it.

And of course, your descriptions through the whole story were really lovely and consistent. I always enjoy how much effort you put into making sure all of your descriptions and characters are as real and detailed as possible.

I enjoyed reading this a lot as I said. It's very descriptive and you can feel each emotion the characters are experiencing. I think you should even try to continue it even though you wrote it for a contest. You definitely have a nack for what you are writing.

The summer was their time, something sacred in the effortless season, but there was something different about this summer in particular – love this description of summer. The effortless season. Yes, yes, yes. It brings back memories in everyone about some of their best days of summer.

The simple coral pink bikini was a contrast to the patterned, ruffled pieces he was accustomed to seeing her in, but he recognized the faded and frayed denim cutoffs as Kandi wriggled them up and over her hips. As he struggled to soak in every inch of her, Logan began to notice the subtle changes that arose from the months spent apart. Her fair skin possessed the beginnings of a summer glow, faint freckles scattered like constellations across her shoulders and the bridge of her nose. Tousled chestnut waves and sideswept bangs still framed her face, but the wild, unruly locks had grown out since he’d last visited her for her birthday in January. Now that the tips skimmed the middle of her back, it only added to her natural, beachy vibe, leading Logan’s mind to wander back to images of mermaids and the scent of the sea. – I adore the description of this paragraph. I can picture her so easily and the flow of details is impeccable. Wonderfully written.

I sincerely enjoyed this very much. To be honest with you, I think this is one of the most well-written one-shots on this website. I'm assuming "Logan" is Logan Bawcom of the Dodgers (thank you google - man is he a cutie). Even though I had no idea who he was at the beginning of this, it didn't matter at all. The story has a simple plot, yet you still made me want to read it just with your writing style alone. I loved the descriptions. It was my favorite part. And even though it was long, it didn't feel long at all. I read it quickly and then re-read it because I thought that it was really wonderful. Great job!
