He’ll walk into the room I’m in, his brown eyes on fire like he’s fuelled by the abuse. Fuelled should be fueled.
This was a really sad one-shot, in my opinion. I mean, even though Jody knew that the situation she was in wasn't the best, she stayed in and didn't seem confident enough to actually leave even though I probably would have been better for her if she did. I think the ending of the one-shot was what got me. It just tied together the whole one-shot and ultimately told the reader that she was not going to leave. Ever.
But I think that the ending was very realistic because there are so many stories that show abusive relationships, and tells of the struggle of leaving that person, but that is not always the case. Some people just have their reasons for not leaving the relationship, and this really showed that. I think is was just a nice, but sad change from other stories like this. Anyway, this is such an amazing one-shot. Wonderful job!
Wow. That was amazing! I love how she thinks and how she falls into this desperate, dangerous cycle. I loved the ending even if it is sad and disappointing. You want her to realize that she is capable of so much more, but you know that once you get to that point where nothing else matters but that one joint or slap to keep you going, it's so hard to leave.
First off, I have to say, the layout is gorgeous. I think it's simple, elegant, and some how ties in with th main character. Jody was this angelic sweetheart who was very smart and now she is a drug addict in an abusive relationship with Harry. I think the layout shows her innocence somehow. My interpretation:
This piece was beautiful and I enjoyed every moment of reading this at 2:42 in the morning. It was worth my time! Well done.
