Only just read the first chapter, but I'm already intrigued. Your writing style really puts the reader in the scene and you add just the right amount of detail, without giving too much. I'm glad I came across this story on here and I can't wait to read the rest of it! :)

My goodness, this is by far the most thorough response I've ever gotten to one of my stories! I'm so grateful for all of the feedback, and I am so glad that you seem to like the story thus far! I'm terrible at making banners, but I'll definitely look into making one (or having someone make one). Thank you for the idea! This is so lovely--thank you, thank you!

I am going to divide my review into different aspects of the story. Here it goes.

    Title
I immediately thought “fairies” with your title. I love fantasy stories, so this pulled me in immediately (especially since it reminded me of the names used for the class system in Shadowgate: Trials of the Four Towers [aka, my favorite game tehe])

    Layout
I really like the simplicity of the layout; it’s a readable layout and it’s simple so it doesn’t distract the readers from the actual content, which is great. However, I’d recommend a single banner, perhaps of the characters or even perhaps of that symbol that connects Merritt with Oz.

    Summary
Your summary is brilliant. I often see summaries that give too much information about the contents of the story that it loses the readers’ interest in it; other times I see summaries with nothing in them and fail to pull readers in; however, your summary gives enough but not enough. It gives me an understanding of what the story will be about, but it doesn’t give the main plot away nor the characters’ intentions and backstory, so it really does pull you in.

    Chapter 1
I will review one chapter (however, you might see more of me since I’m liking this so far).

Let me say this from the beginning, what a smug little jerk this Merritt sounds like. It seems like he has had everything placed on a silver plate before him most of his life, so he believes he can have whatever he want. I hope you don’t take it as an insult to your writing; on the contrary, I’m praising it because you made me remember the character and leave the chapter with a first impression of him, meaning that you have fleshed him out quite perfectly and only in one chapter, giving him life and not leaving him as a two-dimensional character (I keep picturing him as Legolas dad for some reason, maybe the fabulous elf part reminds me of your character tehe).

Although we collect so little about Oz, I like her already. She seems more concern with doing what she likes than with doing what others expect of her. She has this air of lacking a bit of self-confidence, but altogether the little descriptions we have of her, she seems strong.

What I liked the most about this chapter is how the story starts slowly, not throwing us immediately into it and not giving anything away aside from the first impressions we get of the main characters and a vague idea of their connection to one another, which, again, it pulls me in.

I am definitely subscribing and will read some more. If I don’t comment for any reason in any chapter, just know that I am reading tehe

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it! It seems a lot of people are having issues with the names, to be honest--you're the second person to think it was Wizard of Oz fanfiction :) I'm glad you liked it (and read it) despite the confusion!

I love this. Although, I originally thought Oz was going to be the guy character and Merritt would be the female. Even though, you're such a talented writer. For whatever reason, I thought this would be a fanfiction of the new Oz movie but I am so glad I was wrong. I love this story to bits, good job!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, when I started writing it (about a year and a half ago) I didn't know they were coming out with a new Wizard of Oz movie. Bad timing on my part!

This is a perfectly executed story that is both original and greatly described. It made me feel in the moment and I followed it perfectly. Thank you for writing this truly exquisite piece. It seemed a little odd to me that Oz was the girl though, I was thinking that this was a fanfiction of the new Oz movie, huh? Aha, my mistake though.

I really like the story and how original it is. I like how it is spaced out perfectly (Something I have trouble with lol) And I think you could get it published if you wanted. You have the exact amount of description needed. I really like this story and hope you continue to write. You have a lot of skill with this and I hope to read some more of your great stories:)

    Hi, I'm Allison! c:

First off, I'd like to say that I love, love, love the layout for this story. It's simple, but not plain. It's decorative, but not complicated. It's also easy to read the story, so that's lovely. c:

Next thing is the title and summary, yay! The title really caught my eye when it popped up for me. It's flawless, in my opinion. The summary was done very, very well. It made me want to read on, and it's just magnificent.

The characters and plot were also great. Their all unique, and not one of those cliche characters that you see in those fan-fiction stories. Brownie points for you there. c; I really, really, really, really, love the plot for this. It's different, in a good way obviously.

Overall, I'm just really in love with this story. It's absolutely flawless. I cannot wait to read more! Keep up the good work! Much love, xx.

The point of the comment swap is to learn things that will improve your stories, so thank you so much for your suggestion!! I am so grateful that you took the time to read my story, and thank you for your kind words! I'll go look at the summary right now to see what I can do to make it more appealing :)

Dear author you won't really like what i'll say but maybe i'm just too hard to please so don't freak out. Lol A suggestion would be to make your story title more captivating. You have to make the summary more interesting, make the readers wanna read your writings. The chapters themselves are well written even though you could make them more appealing and you have the skills to do it. Keep up the great work and share your imagination with everyone.

As long as you keep writing, I'll a keep reading :) Update soon please :D I'm sorry comment swap is mad because I didn't have one extra character lol. I might as well go in some more detail. I love the character Merritt but at the same time I hate him.
