I like how literal your interpretation of the song is. A lot of songfics try to tell a different story and quite often fail, but you've managed to take the lyrics and elaborate on an already interesting plot, and I like that. You give a good amount of backstory for the relationship between Melanie and Andrew and tie it in really well with the song as well, which I like. I would have liked to see a little more detail here and there as description can be quite thin, but aside from that, I quite enjoyed this! I always found the song interesting anyway, so it's nice to see someone take the basic idea and make it their own like this.
