I LOVE The Maine. So I was excited to get this! I love the story, it was beautifully written and it even made me feel sad for Isa hahah
The layout does the story justice, as does the font it is written in. I would say that you need paragraph breaks because even though you can distinguish where the lines start and stop, it looks a bit blocky. Other than that, it's an amazing one-shot :)
You're really great at using imagery and I could really imagine him going to Isa's home. I was sad that he couldn't stop and I wish he had made it to her house. I'd like to think he lived and then walked to her house because I almost cried thinking he died. It was well written and I really enjoyed reading it :)
My heart loves you for your wonderful command of language. Your pacing, your descriptions, weaving imagery into the sentences--all spot-on perfect. You write in such a way that your reader understands you respect her intelligence, and that makes a connection on such a deep level. The characters breathe, feel, express--you imbue them with life that lifts them off the page. You have a fan, my friend, and I say that to a very few people here!
