I'll definitely keep that in mind! I had really intended it to be more of a Patrick Kane story when I started it and really enjoyed writing him in a different way than I've seen in most fics, more of a balanced character was what I was going for. Thanks to both of you for the suggestion :)

I agree with this! I want to see where you see Pat going. This story was so perfectly written and you had extremely real characters. Most fan fictions dont seem real but this did and Id love to see the same thing for Pat

One-shot is a great idea! I'll probably do that when I feel like I just wanna write something to keep from getting rusty. I love that you listened to the song as you read and got the full effect!

Music is probably the biggest inspiration for my writing and since my last story was inspired mostly by Drake and Mac Miller I decided to move away from hip hop for my next story and Florence and the Machine's No Light, No Light seemed to fit perfectly with Jev's evasiveness and unwillingness to deal with her issues, plus I always thought of Kaner when I heard "your bright blue eyes". I thought it would be fitting it end the story with another one of her songs and there's nothing much more fitting for this ending than Never Let Me Go. So yes, all that rambling aside, she definitely was partly my inspiration for the story.
I'm not from the Niagara area but I've spent the last two or three summers at Niagara on the Lake and it really just is the most stunning, scenic place and a pretty perfect wedding venue. I love that you could relate to that setting!

So the second I saw the title, I put "Never Let Me Go" on and proceded to read. I think I teared up a little? Wow okay. Really love this story, your work in general, gah and can I just say how wonderful the character of Jev turned out. Adored the way you wrote her. Pat's still my favorite mature crazy, and maybe a little one-shot in the future with Jev and Jon as parents?

Can't wait to read more of your work!

This was a masterpiece - you did it up well!!

Yes, they got married and yes, she was pregnant... but the epilogue was so much more than that. It was your attention to detail - Jon's nervousness at Jev being late, the comments from the "peanut gallery", the description of Jev's dress - and the quirkiness of the vows and the fact that ceremony was presided over by Jev's uncle, who was ordained over the Internet.

I loved that they got married, but you didnt make it a romantic fluff piece - that just wouldnt be Jon and Jev. I mean "Tweedle Dee" and "Tweedle Dumbfuck" - that had me rolling. And it would have been easy to make a sweet announcement about the baby - but no....trust Kaner to figure it out by the increased size of her tits!!! But the kicker for me was the wedding night. You would not allow it to become a sappy romance where you fade to the roaring fire - nope, it started out sweet enough so we could see how much these two really love each other, but then you turn the tables by having the bride demand that Jon take her to "Pound Town". Yup, true to her character - that's Jev!!!

This was a great story and I look forward to your next project!

That was amazing! I can't believe it's over :( I loved how she got to have that moment with Pat. Everything about this eplilogue really just made the story perfect. Everything just came to together and I'm just so impressed with your writing. Sad that its over but can't wait for more from you!
Also, was Florence and the machine your inspiration for this story? I couldn't help but notice how the epilogue was called "never let me go". I love her, by the way. :)
And I'm from the niagara area so that's so cool that you had their wedding in NOTL! It's absolutly beautiful there.
Thanks for this story, it truly was a great read, and keep on writing!! Xxx

You really seemed to tie up a lot of loose ends with this latest update - and showed a clear direction of where Jev and Jon were headed in the future. You even succeeded in making Jev a sympathetic character, when about half way through the story, she was not garnering much support.

Jev was an interesting female lead - she was terribly flawed, and was downright unlikeable at times - but you stuck by your choices and revealed her issues slowly. I like that she wasnt this gorgeous, perfect model-like woman who everyone was in love with - like a lot of the fanfic females. You also showed how Jon and Kaner both loved her in their own ways - and their differing reactions to all her shenanigans. You also showed how they ultimately resolved things for themselves and ulitmately dealt with their own feelings for Jev.

I do hope you write another - I would be very interested in how you handle a Sidney Crosby story.

    Great Job!

    oh my dear.
    this was perfect.
i'm so happy. she finally came around and he loves her and oh, i'm just happy.
=] if you do an epilogue, obviously i'll read it.
but the way you ended it is perfectly wonderful on its own.
