I found this short story very intriguing. It was very detailed and that is what grabbed my attention. Im looking forward to reading more of this.

This is quite interesting. I imagine you wrote this when you left for basic? Anyway, I think you've captured the emotions and confusion someone would be feeling in this situation quite well. I also like how you included the feeling of helplessness that many people must feel once they've made a life changing decsion. All in all, I think this was well written and if you decide to continue it I'll certainly be subscribing.
