Well, I most certainly didn't expect that ending. I was half hoping that Matt and Brian would go on the road with Sam and Dean and become hunters - because really, I would have liked for this to be a nice, long story. But not everybody can have a happy ending, huh?
Very well written! I loved this!

Firstly, that banner is absolutely stunning. It's so dark and Supernaturally and...yeah.
I haven't the foggiest about Avenged so you'll need to excuse my ignorance. I don't think there will be much in terms of ignorance though, because this really does read like a fanfiction in the slightest.
I felt so bad for Brian at the beginning. Finding out that his friend wasn't really his friend and that his wife was dead must be absolutely horrible, especially when I think about how nasty the shifters are in the programme. Then again, I'm glad that going into the second chapter, he has Sam and Dean. I feel much safer knowing those two goofballs have him and (hopefully!) Matt in safe company.
I legitimately now have Sam and Dean painted as the knights in shining armour after reading a bit of the second chapter. I'm so glad that Matt is alive - it'd be heartbreaking for Brian if he had lost absolutely everyone! And their reaction to Cas appearing. I had that reaction the first time he appeared in the show. I feel kind of safer now he's there, he tends to just angel-boop anyone that tries to kill people so yeah.
You've actually got Cas's character down to a T and that makes me so happy. His whole angel-of-the-lord thing always amused me a little and in a story that, so far, has been quite dark, that does lighten things up a little which is a good thing. And I may have noticed a little subtle hint of DeanxPie. Yup.
And now there's some DeanxImpala and I am so done with this story oh dear lord. I love Dean's little conversations with the Impala, it's so refreshing and awesome to read about it. I can see Famine at work though. Brian nearly walking out in front of a car for alcohol is really worrying. I've kind of grown attached to him and Matt as characters, I really hope nothing happens!
Oh dear lord, Matt did not jut give up the Winchesters, did he? I wasn't expecting that at all! Brilliant ending!
I only noticed one or two things throughout. which made Brian snapped his (second chapter) - I think snapped should be snap. I think you had put Brain instead of Brian at the beginning of the third chapter too.
This was so good. You had the characterisation down to a fine art and the entire story was pretty awesome. Great job!
