If I may make a small comment:
just watch the word use because it can be a tad confusing and kinda halt the story.

"It's not very joyful, so I guess you can see why Ariel is so captivated to the enthusiastic lives of her friends."
You can't say joyful here because you can only BE joyful, you can't have situation that is joyful (idk if that explains it correctly) or like when you said female figurines I was a little confused as i was when you sai d"From those words alone spoken by the rebellious Ariel, a corruption of words fleeted into the air with an aurora of hatred that convicted the air. To the red-head, it was almost too shabby to even endeavor breathing without remarking against everyone else's words."

Small things really and not that i'm even a good author I just have done quite a bit of editing and reading so it helps to just reread (even out loud) and see how it sounds. Otherwise (back to the good stuff now) as I've said I really do love this story I love the fairytale-esque language and the mystical feel i has. Can't wait for the next update, hope it's soon. :)

Didn't dissapoint, you have a circus in there and "summers at the cape" can't wait for more, and Little Mermaid is definately one of my favorites.
