This is sad. I usually hate sad tales, but I see you meant that love doesn't last forever. Maybe if they were husband and wife it would make more time sense, as we would see that there time together was maybe some years or months at first and they were still young and adventurous as a couple. The end is seriously sad either way.

It's definitely a mix of time frames, I can hardly imagine where it takes place.

And it would be so nice to have some revenge on those villagers, so rude!

This is just purely amazing! I could read your stories all day any day. Your style of writing just makes me hooked, if something short and sad like this story can make an impact on someone like it did, it says a lot. It's a mixture of modern and old fashioned writing, with a bit of judgment towards the villagers and pure love towards the guy, a perfect mix..
You should seriously write a book or something! I would read it!
