Hahaha When I watched the movie, I fancied Freddie immediately and I did not like Hester, so I decided to write this and give Freddie a bit of happiness :')

Well, I've seen The Deep Blue Sea and I instantly fell in love with Freddie. ehehe, I find this creation of yours interesting and very vintage. As for Carol, I was quite surprised of how young she looked (considering that, that girl in the was going to be paired up with Tom). To sum it all up, your fanfic satisfied me. hahaha, I think I'd prefer Carol over Hesther now. Though originally, I didn't really like Hester. :) ehehe good job! :))

Oh thank you! That really relieves me because the love scene was a key part and I wanted it to transmit all those long kept feelings.

It's old fashion too so it's perfect. I hate it when people pick a ring that is so modern beyond the time they are writing about and I'm like you are losing your realistic theme to this story because of that ring.
I think the love scene was fantastic, it wasn't dirty in any way, you can tell that they really loved each other and there wasn't that rough touch to it like a lustful couple would be. It was passion instead and it was utterly romantic if I say so myself.
He does deserve happiness

The ring is beautiful love. That was just sooo sweet and perfect, all at the same time. I'm glad Freddie has a happy ending and I'm writing my own short FP story as I speak.

It is and I feel bad for Freddie that he has such a conflict of emotions. War can do pretty nasty things to you as a person.

It's just saddening and heart breaking. That's the whole point of Carol. She connects Freddie to his person before the war and when he finds her again, it's like a small comfort you know? Besides, he loves her.

I'm writing it right now and I just force myself to stop sometimes to coo at how amazingly loving it looks. Freddie feels all over the place.

Yeah, he can only be fun for a certain amount of time before the rest of his misery and haunting memories catches up with him again. It does scar people, when I had to interview a Vietnam veteran for my history project in high school a lot of men said they weren't comfortable talking about it, but I found one and his story brought me to tears.

That's part of my fascination for Freddie. He's apparently fun, but he's scared by war and he can be very very dark. It's only natural, war changed every single man involved in it and yes, it's post war.

I'm currently writing the love scene, yes I'm calling it love scene now because it's not just sex. It's so much more between Freddie and Carol.

That's natural. I mean Freddie is usually dark when he's drunk or he's in that mood. He's not always like that though, he was like that with Hester because she was difficult and he is battling through what he has done in the war. If this is post war he doesn't have to be really dark. They did say the war changed him.

Indeed. I felt a bit darker writing Freddie but I don't want the story to be dark.
