This was a very nice, well, not nice, but gorgeous story. I was deeply saddened and I was able to connect with the characters very easily. It made me tear up a little bit when I read the last few parts of the second chapter thing. You’re a good writer; there’s a lot of emotion in what you put down. I hope to see more from you, maybe not so sad?

This is so sad, but so beautiful and meaningful at the same time.
It's very hard to describe, but I loved it.
    You did an amazing job(:

Well, the way you interpreted it is still really creative, even if it's not that cliché. I totally get what you were trying to convey here, even if it was hard to explain for you.
Good luck in the contest! :)

    @ whomping willow.
Thanks so much for the con-crit. :) I think it's hard to understand why Colie killed herself unless you had been in her shoes. I have been, and I don't really know how to describe it other than the way I did in the note from Colie to Nate. I think when I said that Nate understood, I meant that he understood the sadness that Colie felt all the time, and how that must have taken such a toll on her over the years. I should have clarified that, sorry.
Thank you for reading, and for making the contest, and all of that. :) Sorry it wasn't all cute and happy sunshine, haha. I just sort of started writing and this is what happened and I couldn't change it. But yeah.
    Thanks. :)

    Layout/Grammar

So, let's get this stuff over with. The layout was just fine - it was super easy to read, pretty, and very fitting to the story. It's the perfect kind of layout!
As for the grammar, I didn't see too many mistakes. Considering I'm a Grammar Nazi, you still did very well. :)

    Everything else!

Okay! Well, I definitely have strong thoughts for the way you interpreted this contest and put it into the story, but I just don't know if they're good or bad. Yes, I wanted something cliché, and this doesn't really fit under the primary category. But, still, it was cute and it resembled something very substantial and important.
Like mostly all the other entries, I like how you didn't use that much description. Usually, I would rather the author show me what's happening instead of telling me, but that was on purpose for the story, and I like that.
Here comes the con-crit, though: one thing that Nate was wondering about throughout the story was why Colie committed suicide. But, even after I read her letter, it still didn't make sense to me. You said that he understood in the second chapter, but you never revealed why he understood all of a sudden. I'm confused about that. I think if you just had a really strong reason as to why she killed herself, it would make so much more sense and emphasize Nate's actions to go tell his story to other high school kids.

Overall, this was very good. :)
