That's what we were going for. We wanted this to be different than the other stories we have written. Something that doesn't involve love and finding that infatuation misleads a lot of people into thinking it's love when it's not. Lies were brought upon and things got tangled in the messiest way possible. It's just something both leading characters have to go through in order to see what is best for them and at the time they needed this course of action with each other to see what they really need in their life.

I was wholeheartedly expecting a happy ending to this story, but now that I've finally read the ending I can honestly say that I'm happy with how you ended it. It took me by surprise, and besides, happy endings are kind of overrated. Another thing I really appreciated was the line "Marilyn didn't need a man to fulfill her". I like it when writers end with the moral of independence and learning to love one self.

So I was not at all expecting this ending and I terribly love the fact that that's what happened. I love it when writers surprise me and I couldn't be more surprised by the turn the ending took! This story was such an amazing pleasure to read: the emotions, the character developments, and the smut (of course) which was top notch! You guys make a great writing team and I hope you guys do something together again in the future; the entire story was seamless and cohesive and just awesome. This will undoubtedly be a favorite that I reread later. ♡♡

Thank you! We very much appreciate it and I would love to work with BlueDreams again. It was so effortless to cowriter together which is saying a lot lol I haven't tried to cowrite with several people and it never world out. We planned on never having Mare and Tom together either. We wanted something different than our other stories.

Excellent job ladies! This story has always been one of my favorites. I think the ending was perfect. I honestly didn't expect Tom and Marilyn to be together.
I also like how Marilyn started out as a meek girl but was a strong woman at the end.
Do you two have another story in mind? If you do, I would love to read it!!

I don't think her dating someone else would actually be effective or be right; she is in too much pain to 'date' someone else, that other person would definitely know what's up and would not last very long for Tom to even notice. Thanks for the comment!!

I read all of this in about two hours. And all I can say is why can't you let her love you, Tom?!?! :( Broke my heart! I can't wait for the next update, this story has me hooked!
