This story is kind of heartbreaking. I am so hoping for a happy ending with them together, but I just can't see how you are going to do that. I really love it though, the whole concept of him being dead and living at the same time is so fascinating.
@ everybody dies; Thank you! Your comment has really cheered me up! I don't get very many comments so I've really just been writing this story for myself because I enjoy writing it.
Warm Bodies is a book I love and it inspired me to write this. I liked that the whole story is from the point of view of a zombie and thought I'd like to give that a go. I realised that I've never come across a book that really says anything about the very first zombie and I can imagine that it'd be extremely difficult because there's no one for that zombie to relate to. I'm really going for that whole isolation thing and worry if I'm overdoing it aha.
Again, I just wanted to say thank you for the subscription and recommendation! It makes me feel relieved that I'm doing something right because the lack of feedback always makes me wonder if I'm writing the story well, or if I'm not putting enough into it.
I clicked on this purely by chance and I'm glad I did. This kind of reminds me of Warm Bodies, but in another way it's completely different. I think this is a really refreshing take on the whole zombie craze that seems to be sweeping the site right now because there doesn't seem to be an apocalypse, just one boy. Your writing is fluent and easy to read, your description is perfect and Charlie is such a well-fleshed character; I genuinely found myself feeling really sorry for him when his friends (and even his mother) turned their backs on him. Like I said above, the plotline is really original and fresh, which is another thing that drew me into the story. I haven't read anything quite like it before and I love that you have it from the perspective of the 'zombie' rather than the people trying to kill what are often classed as monsters. I like that you've injected a load of humanity into Charlie. It kind of makes you question every view you've ever had on a zombie.
The memory is hazy but who would want to remember the time their life was extinguished in five minutes flat? - I adore that line. It's just so stark and bleak, amazing.
All in all, very impressed. I'll definitely be subscribing and recommending to see what happens next!
Just like I predicted by the title, this is amazing! It's really unique and when you're reading it, you do start to feel bad for Charlie. Can't wait to read more :D
Yeah...the layout isn't letting you read the actual update, all the words / paragraphs are bunched up REALLY close together...the summary and layout are awesome though!
