Sundays are never good days for me bc they come right before Monday and it's the day for me to start my hw ehehehe OH MY GOSH SALEM AND REINIER ARE HILARIOUS TOGETHER WOW HE'S SO HOT CAN I HAVE HIM wow wow wow this story is incredible though okay i'm so excited to see where it'll go! (:
I love this! And I realize that this is your third comment in a row that starts with "I love this" but it's true! The prologue is awesome, and that article on the Mibba homepage was 100% right about how awesome-ly you captured her OCD. I love it. LOVE.
This story is super amazing. I saw it in the Mibba magazine and decided to read it. I'm so glad I did! The story had me captivated from the start and I am already in live with the characters. Please update this soon!
This is for the "altar the muertos" that you requested on my candy bowl.
First, the layout; I think this is a gorgeous and simple layout. It allows me to read perfectly through it and it also provides this soft and calm feeling to the content. The banner, I don't know if this was intentional, but the clock points at 8:04 and I love the connection between Salem's obsession with the number for. If it was intentional, you're brilliant. If it wasn't, you're still brilliant because you used it subconsciously.
Onto the story, I really love the characterization of Salem; you give this air of her being predictable with what she does due to her compulsions manifested because of the obsessions she has, but she's really mysterious. Why hasn't she seen anybody besides from her dad? What happened that she is locked in the house alone? It was clear in one of the sentences that she left an apartment 6 years ago, so what happened there? I'm a sucker for mysteries and when an author leaves certain bits important for character development, they got me hooked, so you pretty much have me hooked on the story and I need to read more.
From what I'm reading, Salem has OCD which is very common among women and you're portraying the compulsions and obsessions pretty accurately. She reminds me of this woman who was in a class with me back in my undergrad years; she would count ever stair that climbed in order to get on the third floor of the building; if she missed one, she would start all over again, often arriving late to class (not super related, but I thought that the way you make her go out of her way to satisfy the obsession is very realistic).
I really liked the interaction that she has with Reinier (and I did notice the symmetry ) on the second (first, really) chapter. It provides this background that she hasn't had much contact with anybody else and that she years for companionship, yet makes me wonder why she's not allowed out.
Overall, I think this piece is really interesting, well-thought and written, and the characters have me hooked (especially Salem). I am subscribing and recommending in hopes of reading more soon.
You have a way of writing that draws me in like a pie on a windowsill. Your characters breath life into me, turning my stomach into a lightly boiling pot of water, alive with butterflies and happiness. I don't know how, but you can and do do this to me.
I adore Salem's weirdnessâ„ I'm usually picky with stories, but this one captivated me from the start and kept me interested all the way through. You have such a lovely writing style, update soon! (:
I love this story already. I'm so curious to know more about Salem...her comment about Reinier being the first person she's seen in years is so intriguing. I love how she's obviously a little bit out there but she doesn't think she is...she talked to Reinier as if it was the most normal thing in the world. I have a feeling she'll stay on his mind and he'll have to come back.
THAT WAS THE MOST SPECTACULAR UPDATE EVER OH MY GOODNESS so original and adorable and Salem is so precious oh my goodness Reinier's a riot and i most certainly did NOT notice that his name is symmetrical! (:
