See, I misunderstood on the first half, I thought you meant dressing like it's winter all the time haha. (Not to that extent but you get my flow.) I disagree with the nudity thing but I am an extreme liberal so I understand where you are coming from.

Im glad you like my comment.

I don't hate girls I hate the feelings girls have about exposing themselves.

Well humans aren't perfect and if male rape is increasing and I can protect myself by continuing to wear covered clothes I will.

And her friend said layers of clothes so it would be harder to pull off. I never said she said really loose clothes. But seriously what's wrong with that? Flowing clothes that aren't revealing should be accepted as well, if not even more. Lol especially because of the weather.

It's fine to self express but showing off your legs and your chest etc is mostly a way of attracting guys...

And my self expression is evident on me and I don't want a piece of my body to be stared at by the commodified eyes of the masses.

We need to realize that yes education is very needed, but there are sick people in the world and we can protect ourselves and so we should.

Men are attracted to women, it doesn't mean they will rape them, but it also doesn't mean women should walk around naked.
This weird idea that women could walk around naked and thinking its good is so messed up. Like where do we see naked women? Maybe in hospitals if youre a doctor and maybe those adult videos.

It's not just a physical state of being naked it also means something socially. Men want to see that and so why are women giving themselves up so easily!?

We wear clothes to protect us from the elements and to hide our naked bodies. And I see girls shivering with short skirts in winter and I don't understand why the boy holding their hands don't encourage them to dress at least weather approximate. Or even her friends because it doesn't matter about guys all the time. Lol.

The problem is that society is losing its sense of modesty.

If you don't believe me about wearing more covered clothes ill explain more.

For example a job interview tips guide told me that wearing modest opaque clothes is better. Why? Because anything revealing too much is sexualizing myself and is distracting to both the males and females that would be my employers.

People are losing their sense of shame. Now nothing is considered shameful.

Yes, twilight encourages rape in very subtle ways. I read all four books and I didn't see it till I got older and wizened up. It also pushes the ideas of Mormonism in a strong and subtle way. I can link you to some stuff on that.

Yeah, look more into that case, it is what inspired me to write about this.

No, girls should not have to alter their lifestyle and self expression for people that are pigs. Men should be taught to respect women. It is not fair that some guy hurt you friend to the extent that she has to hide herself instead of embracing it. Also, just because a girl wears tight clothes or dresses in a less conservative way does not mean that she is a slut or asking for it. I wear what I want to wear, act the way I want to act, and I don't care! Confidence is the best protection against rape, in my book. Dress how you want to dress, not how you think others want to see you. And while you hate those girls I respect them, and some of them I feel sorry for. Never hate.

We can change society though. Bring awareness to the masses. It's not that hard, just be respectful.

Thank you so much for reading this and leaving such an awesome comment!! You made my day!

Twilight is about rape? I think it's just the author living out her fancy through a book. He doesn't seem like he doesn't want to do it. Afterall he proposes. But it is disturbing how she much she is after him...so maybe you're right. I had to skip pages of the books..

That's horrible that those boys were let off so easy!! That's sick. It is glorified. It's the media a lot of the time.

It's not girls fault, but wearing more clothes for protection is definitely a good idea especially if its becoming more serious. Better safe than sorry. One of my friend's friends was almost raped and now she suggests to wear layers. Lots of layers. I can't believe how horrifying it must be for her.

Women's confidence is eroded. Only if they reveal themselves are they given the perception of respect. That's why I don't reveal my self so that I get real respect.

Exactly! You're right I don't want to be seen as a piece of meat!! The world can't know me until they approach me. I avoid tight clothes, no matter now good they look, and I avoid being overly friendly with guys. Not rude to guys, just not telling them everything or trying so hard. This behaviour is just glorified by the media. And I hate that girls feel the need to show every bit of themselves through tight see through clothes, as though they need to show the world how good they feel. Then they are stroking their hair constantly to fix it as if someone is constantly watching them.

And lets not even talk about the obsession to be thin that's forced in this society. People are dying. Even anthropologists like Susan Bordo know how to identify and explain it so well and easily. Meanwhile men are bulking up and taking up all the space. It's not even heathy! Protein shakes and being a huge muscled monster.

We won't get anywhere with this body obsessed, ignorance accepting, materialistic world. Already the mental health issues in America are higher than most of the world because of this individualism and this constant pleasure seeking drive. There's no way to calm down. No peace. We are constantly alerted by colours or ads to stare and watch and seek more.

But what's really meaningful is seeking knowledge so you can avoid this and see what's really good in this world. We can see what can really benefit us.

Great essay, really thought provoking and intelligent. You should consider reading sociology and anthropology articles from google scholar or academic journals. You seem to be searching for knowledge and have a really curious mind and I love how you are searching for the meaning in all this.

    Keep writing and keep searching!
