Having a Vic/Iris conflict is sort of stereotypical for a fanfic... But it's the easiest to write. It would be interesting to re-imagine that idea into an ex come into play. Maybe one of Vic's. Spice things up and Iris could be overly flirty. Or she could get jealous and mad at Vic, thinking he's cheating, when really its something else(like a favor, or playing a song he wrote for the ex).
I hope that gave you an idea...
