...I fail to see the horror of her musical tastes. Of course, my SO probably thinks similarly as Mike does of my tastes. Except I've got Best of Santana, The Police, and The Eagles in my collection. Plus Peter Paul and Mary and NIN. And bluegrass. He likes the Dixie Chicks, at least.

I love how different Sarah and Mike are and yet they seem to click. I couldn't imagine how annoyed he must be with his music choices she's given him haha

I like that she doesn't really put up with his shit, and she seems to really want to help him on the roadtrip, though something is telling me she has her own personal reasons for wanting to go on the trip...

“I’m serious, Mike. I spotted a group of Caps fans over that way—” she pointed toward the restrooms, “—and I’m sure they’d just die if they knew their favorite team’s stud defenseman was sitting all alone in the car for the next ten hours.” Hahaha nice way to blackmail him! But at least she got him to talk to her that way. Only a best friend can manipulate you like that haha

I'm interested to see if Mike begins to actually like the road trip as it goes along and they make it to Kentucky and beyond :)

I am unbelievably excited about this story. Please tell me Sarah's new mystery vehicle is a VW bus :)

I tried smoothing things over by telling her they were Dixie — real flashy stuff when it comes to recyclable dishware — but she was having none of it and actually made us go to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy real plates.

That line was so clever and made me laugh out loud. Mike is hilarious! You're doing such a good job writing from his point of view. It's very believable. I can't wait for their adventure to start!

I really like the personality you've given Mike. The banter between the characters is great, and for that reason I hope they go through some really backwoods places so we can laugh along with them. Looking forward to reading more. :)
