How about a follow-up story for Claude and Lindsay? Love these characters!

Oh god! I think I love Bob.

Don't forget she picked Sean once too. He's just as sleazy as Max. So Bob would surely know she has strange tastes.

Crazy? It's like you've never met me. oh, wait...

It doesn't _have_ to be a bus. I just want him taken out brutally and completely without dignity. Perhaps a pratfall of prancing clowns? A salon of stampeding poodles? A spread of Segway-crashing Washington Capitals? A crush of Black Friday shoppers? (wiktionary has an amazing list of collective nouns)

Did I mention that Bob made the noodles in Max's chicken soup by hand from scratch and topped it with a baked parmesan cheese tuile? It's not that Bob likes Max, he suffers him for Xavier's sake, but he's Xavier's family. Like the uncle who smells of wet dog and strangely of turmeric, or the creepy cousin who sells Amway; you don't like them but you can't exclude them from family gatherings. Bob just can't see what Elise ever saw in Max, he's a sleaze ball, but Bob knows that she has strange tastes anyway, she picked Bob after all and he knows that she's out of his league.

I am actually and seriously trying to figure out a Max gets hit by a bus story. This is crazy! But I love it!

Haven't we been down this road before? Why, yes, yes we have. "Let me help you with more outrageous suggestions," she croons, "I'm an excellent beta reader..."

How many Flyers does it take to cross the road? Better send two, because one might get hit by a bus!

Yes, I do seem invested in having Max being hit by a bus.

I just died laughing! Every thought I was having fled because I laughed for five minutes over that sentence. Basically though, I'm going to have to write a story now. I will be referring back to this comment sometime in the future...

I live to serve? I mean, if you need more 'help' with plot bunnies, I can certainly help. For certain values of help, of course.

But seriously, you know that Max would forever be perplexed by why Xavier (and Elise) prefer boring, uninteresting old Bob. Who unironically drives a station wagon. And works doing boring things like insurance or something. Who belongs to a weekly badminton club, for god's sake, and enjoys helping Xavier with science projects, has been known to bone up on whatever math Xavier's doing that week, and keeps a copy of the books Xavier's class is reading on the nightstand so they can have organic discussions about plot and characters. Bob sets up a slip and slide for the neighborhood kids and makes a yearly haunted house. Max has even caught the guy knitting! Bob's bald! So, no, Max just doesn't understand why they adore Bob. He's practical, not fun! (Hand to god, an ex once upon a time could think of nothing he disliked more about me than 'You're so practical!" I still giggle to this day, many many years later).

Max doesn't understand that they prefer substance over flash. That Bob is there, every day, making lunches, coordinating repair appointments for the washing machine that's always been funky, doling out hugs and gently discipline as necessary, helping with homework, cleaning gutters, working in the garden, puttering in the garage, attending little league games, being treasurer for the PTA, going to the library Tuesday nights with Xavier, playing 'pansy ass' badminton on Thursday nights, planning regular Friday night dates with Elise. Bob doesn't do grand gestures, there's nothing grand about him at all! Bald and boring! He doesn't even take Elise and Xavier on exotic vacations, he's assistant scout master, for god's sake. They go camping! And Bob teaches Xavier how to identify trees or something on hikes and how to gut fish! Bob's a member of his local PBS radio station, has subscriptions to Popular Mechanics and an organic gardening magazine, he enjoys NOVA programs and cooking shows! He'll brags about his worm farm and talks about compost! It's just incomprehensible. He's never been to Toronto or L.A., hates New York City, he doesn't even know which night clubs are hot, or what a bespoke suit is!

Needless to say, they don't have a lot to talk about when Max can bestir himself to come to things for Xavier. But Bob brings him chicken soup he made himself when Max gets hit by a bus.

OH. MY. LORD.

I am dying in a fit of giggles!! I've had a Hartnell story waiting patently for me for awhile now that happens before Max and Zoe breakup and I've been thinking about scrapping parts of what I've already written and making the story occur after. Now I know I'm going to rewrite what I've got and have a little fun at Max's expense.

As for Bobby Ryan, I can understand your heart eyes. I'll keep him in the back of my mind for future story purposes and do a little research. I just entered three contests so I have three one shots coming soon and I'm super excited that I got Nathan Gerbe for one of them because I have complete heart eyes for him.

I couldn't read this until you were all the way done, i don't do well with cheating stories, it's a deal breaker for me. I'm glad that Zoe and Sean got their happy ever after.

As for Max, after it came out that he was cheating, well, every chapter I kept thinking, "I hope he catches something nasty and his dick falls off." And you know? That's the thought I ended the story on. So, please let him suffer a horrible disfiguring disease where his dick falls off and then have a bus hit him. Then the Flyers can find someone better when they don't have his contract to worry about. (Like Bobby Ryan, I'm not sure how it happened but seriously, total heart eyes for that guy; you should do a story! And he's a Cherry Hill native, he could buy a house next to Briere, too!) I'm sure Elise has probably married a nice guy who's an impeccable step-dad to Xavier, who will be there for him always instead of flashing in and out of his life with big gestures and little attention.

Anyway, Max: dick falls off, gets hit by a bus, son prefers boring PTA step-dad to him, dies alone and lonely. Yupyup, a fine plot bunny for you!

So difficult to settle in and enjoy your story when my house is full of guests!! Really people, just give me a few minutes to myself. I finally locked myself in room to finish up this awesome story. You really are such a talented writer. Thanks for sharing your gift!!!
