Hi there, I'm here to judge for the fan fiction writing contest!
In all honesty, though I have no problem with reading long stories, I thought the amount of detail and backstory was quite simply, unnecessary. I felt like you could have gotten your point across that Vic was the love of the narrator's life in a way that didn't need so much detail, you know? However that's moreso for personal opinion.
As for the smut scene, I thought it was well done, very well-detailed which made for an easy read. There were bits that were skipped that I wished could have been detailed more, (funnily enough) like how Kellin was telling Vic how much he loved him - I wish I as the reader got to read that rather than reading it briefly in a line. It felt like the sex scene was added just to appease readers rather than have it fit in the story, as it seemed very lust based and not as much lovey or romantic as I think it could have been.
The ending was sweet, with Vic thanking Kellin for how much he's helped him. It was a really nice way to end the story.
Overall, though I did have my reservations, I did enjoy reading this. Nice job!
