Wooow I randomly logged in to see this. What nostalgia! I hope you're doing well, and thank you as always. To be frank, I think this fic is a dumpster fire, but this is how we grow as writers, no? To practice and keep practicing. Thanks for this comment.

So what I first noticed was the layout. It's really funky and interesting but neat, which I really like. I liked the summary, because it made me interested to see what I would be finding in your story.

This isn't really relevant to your actual writing, but I adore how you made the first three words bigger than the rest. It's like in a novel, which I thought was cute. I might just have to steal that idea from you sometime!

What I'm trying to get at is: you characterized your characters SO WELL in such a small amount of text. I could understand who Ruben was as a character and Scout as a character in the first chapter. Which I think is really great.

But I also LOVE your writing style. It's funny and charming while giving the reader relevant information. You keep the reader entertained and I didn't find myself bored at all.

And then there's this line that I found beautiful and relatable: "I let Ruben take me on these stupid, painful adventures is because of that tight, nostalgic warmth I get in my chest." - I think we all have that friend that gives us a feeling like that and I like how you worked that into your story.

You have this style where you give the reader a lot of detail to read, but it isn't overbearing, you know? There is more description than dialogue which is good, because it gives it a nice balance. It's nice to read a story where people aren't always just talking to each other. You gave dialogue and enough action to back it up which was fantastic.

Anyway, I could really see this as a witty young adult novel at Barnes & Noble. Great job, and good luck with the story. :)

You are the kind of writer I aspire to be. This story is excellent and I'm very excited to see where it goes.

This was an absolutely beautiful read - I'm a sucker for platonic relationships, and the relationship Ruben and Scout have has been portrayed so well, I couldn't find a single fault. That, and the concept of the story of itself is wonderful - I love how realistic and raw it is. Please continue ♡

Can we just talk about how beautiful your layouts are for a second? Like, I'm never not impressed. But furthermore, I'm really excited for you to continue this because I'm already intrigued and I want to know how this is going to be played out. I would dislike a friend like Ruben, I'm just going to throw that out there.

So maybe that’s it — the reason I let Ruben take me on these stupid, painful adventures is because of that tight, nostalgic warmth I get in my chest.

That line is so damn gorgeous and ugh okay get back to updating.
