I liked this a lot and I'm so glad you entered! I'm also really glad you decided to use more than one subject. It was quite interesting to see all of the twists and turns. I love how Rainey ends up being proud of who she is and is not bitter about what happened to her. She's such a trooper. :)
I do think you should've been a little more descriptive about certain things, like her surroundings at the dance or maybe be a little more specific about what certain important characters look like. Just a suggestion. Let me know if you come back and edit some things or add something important.
