I'm totally seconding kitsch's point-of-view's voice comment! I was reading this and the familiarity of the voice was nagging at the back of my mind, but that's totally it. It's very Dostoyevsky-esque to me. And that's a compliment, at least in my opinion, by the way.

And my gosh, the way this is written seriously took my breath away. I'm a sucker for these kinds of beginnings, with so many questions popping up and none of the answers given, and for every story that has a narrator making the decision of what to include and what to exclude, what is important and what it skipped. I just find those kinds of stories extremely powerful, and so much more moving than if a non-character narrator simply informed me of the events as they happened.

You're really killing me here, because I'm trying to be all constructively criticizing and stuff, and I can barely pull my gaze away from the chapter, as if me re-reading it again will actually give me more insight on what's going to happen in this story.

He might be addicted to the boy beneath the pine tree, but I think I'm addicted to this story. Definitely subbing. (:

The protagonist / narrator's voice is very Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky-ish to me, which fascinates me greatly. It's been awhile since I've read any good slash original fiction, so I'm looking forward to learning more about the characters because the first chapter still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Anyway, I'll be subscribing to this and hopefully be able to give some constructive feedback soon. Cool
