I don't know why it took me so long to read this, but I'm glad I finally did. I teared up a little reading this. Matt was so sweet towards Lucy. Great job writing this.

This was really sweet, sad and beautiful. I believe it has a great message within. I loved how caring Matt was towards Lucy. even though he wasn't her friend, he knew that she wasn't acting like she normally does which makes him very observant and a great person. The moment that he stopped her from drinking and telling off to the guys that were surrounded it showed that he was feeling something a little more than just a simply gain of friendship. I liked how they were both able to talk about what happen in a mature and trust worthy way. It was a great story and the writing was really good. Great job!

I absolutely love reading stories about parties, so I really enjoyed this. I liked how you used Brian introducing Mattt to Staci to show how distracted his mind was, and then we got to learn that it was because of Lucy. I thought it was really sweet how he went and stood up for her and told the guys to leave her alone, and you could tell that he really cared about her, especially when he was taking the drinks away from her and trying to take care of her. The whole thing was just really adorable and I really enjoyed reading it!

This was incredibly sweet and endearing. I too was wary about reading it to start with, high school stories are normally all about romance and/or bullying, so I like this.

You captured the emotion she was feeling really well, and I also agree, I'm glad you didn't put any romance into it, it was enough to know that he cared about her and, even though he had a crush on her, he didn't pursue it, he was just there for her. So sweet.

I think I'm entered into this contest too, so I'll just uhh slink of into my little corner over there cause I have no chance now! Lol

I'm gonna be honest and say I was a little wary when I first started reading. Nothing to do with you, but because I haven't found many high school fics I've really liked (online at least). But I'm glad I read this because it was fantastic. I teared up reading it. Losing a loved one is hard, but I think it's that much worse when you lose a parent as a teen. Emotions are high, there's a lot of petty drama from others, and it's easy to feel like you're alone and no one understands. You really captured that perfectly, and I'm so in love with that. I also like the fact that you didn't really bring any romance into it other than stating that Matt cared about her. Romance would have taken away from the emotion and completely ruined this.
Side note, if I were you, I'd go back and proofread. There's a couple of instances where you either misspell a word or use the wrong one.
