Like yukinoshita yukino has said I'm not familiar with A7x either haha but I really liked this. It's different from what I normally read so it was interesting to say the least. I really like how detailed this is, it's beautiful and I found myself tearing up Sad
    Good job! Arms

So, I'm not familiar with the A7X fandom, but I decided to check this one out. To help, I went and played the song in the background. It was so sad! :[ The way you wrote it was beautiful and the way you take us through Matt's reflection of things just resounds in the reader. Blah. I'm just sighing now. Why do I read these things and drag myself through such sad emotions. But great job with this one, really. It was a nice read and you're a talented writer. Keep it up! :]

I loved this! (I was watching the video in my head while reading the flashbacks. Lol.) Seriously, though...you brought tears to my eyes. I like the idea of Matt going in and giving a speech to younger kids, encouraging them not to throw away their own or others' futures by doing stupid shit. And I was so glad that he found some peace at the end, that he was forgiven and finally able to move on after he used his experience for something good. =)

the guilt he’s feeling controlling him.

I really love this line; keeps me interested and reveals just enough.

Seize the Day or die regretting the time you lost.
    …That sounds familiar… ignore my smartassness…

Shit why did I pick to read this while I’m on my period? My hormones are going all crazy and now I am close to tears :’(

    I forgive you.
    :-)

This took me on a rollercoaster ride. Feel giddy at the ending though so that’s good. Matt got some closer and you could feel that by the end. This was an interesting take on Seize the Day that I very much enjoyed, especially the fact that he’s speaking at a college.

Awwww, I was curious to find what exactly you had done with the video, since it tells such a big story by itself already. I think you did an amazing job adding your own ideas to create a new story of everything. It was really great.

I enjoyed reading this, even though it was so sad. You made it easy to focus on the emotions and imagine how exactly especially Matt was feeling. very vivid...and heartbreaking. Cry

I wanna point out that I really like the scenes when you described the scenes from the video, that most probably we all know. There's always something about writing scenes from movies, or music videos for that matter that aren't very easy. ESPECIALLY when the readers are familiar with the video. But when I read yours, I could see it all in my head and I think you did a very good, detailed job at describing those scenes, and adding the dialogue wisely.
One of my favorite things was the end though. I found it so adorable, and really original, that you wrote about her appearing to him in the sky, letting him go of guilt. That was so sweet and jkashdlasd. Great idea, honey. Even thoug it's not very realistic it felt very real and...I loved it. :)

I do wanna point out a few things though, simply because I wanna give you fair feedback. I know you're aware of some of this. Personally, i think the change between tense takes a way A LOT of this story. Because when reading it, it suddenly sounds kind of weird and thus makes the story sound a bit lamer than it actually is. Because your writing itself is really great, most of the time you choose really great words and give amazing detail. Maybe if you can't spot all the tense mistakes, try asking someone else? I think this story would sound better in past tense, than present. It does most of the time. I'm not sure which of it it was supposed to be.
Also, maybe try fitting a few "connectors" into this more often, you often start the sentence with the same word(s) and it would give it a better flow. (I'm not even sure if they're called connectors, I think I remember that word from school though, haha... words like Therefore, Then, Afterward, etc.)

But yes, this story was really good! I'm glad you're writing again and that you shared your new work with us here, it was really nice to read. I like a little sad story from time to time, especially if it's as good of a plot as this one was. I liked that Matt really learnt from his mistakes and tried to let the other kids know about it so they wouldn't fuck up as badly as he did. WHY DO I FIND ALL THE ONE SHOTS I READ SO GREAT THAT I WANT THEM TO BE FULL LENGTH STORIES LATELY? xD This is one of them though.
Welcome back to Mibba. I enjoyed this. ♥

I've said it once but I'll say it again, this is SO good!! You've really surpassed yourself with this one my love! Your attention to detail is evident :D

I loved the flash backs, so heart rendering and sad. Poor Mattie! But that'll teach him. I like that you stayed close to the video too. I love the whole idea of him giving a speech to other kids about what will happen if you do stupid things, really it's great!

I'm so proud of you for sticking with this and finishing it honey!! Great job and good luck in the contest!!

    Love you too!! <3

Where do I even begin with this? I would be lying if I said that my eyes weren't tearing up and I'm trying not to cry... Though I seem to be failing at that. Wow, such an emotional story. I remember crying when I first watched the video, too. I can't imagine having to go through something like that, I know the guilt well, but to be able to actually push it on yourself and also knowing that your child is going to grow up without a parent because of something you did that you knew you shouldn't have done. Phew, emotional. I love the fact that this was told to other people, that he's trying to get them to see how important life is and that you should take hold of it and cherish it. You aren't promised tomorrow so you never know when they person you love most is going to be gone forever, or maybe not forever. I absolutely adored the end when he walked out of the building. It was so sweet and I was just like, "aweeee". Wouldn't that be great? To be able to hear those words from the person you'd thought you'd never see again. Just.... wow. I stand by what I said in chat, this was a really good story and it was very well written! Even without smut I loved it and you should be proud of it. To be able to pull emotions like this from a reader is good.
