Wow. Just wow. This was so beautifully written. Your descriptive writing is incredible, so emotive and stunning to read. You captured the essence of human life in this short story, the strength of love and the strength of fear. Cancer is something that touches so many lives, I've experienced family who have died from it too, and the way you constructed this story touched the terror of it so delicately but in a rateable manner which made me have tears in my eyes.

After reading something so beautifully constructed I am going to have to read the rest of your stories. If they are even a fraction as good as this was then they will be truly incredible.

Okay I love the background. It’s nice and easy to read.

I love your writing style. Not too simple and at the same time easy to read.

My favorite part was the second paragraph. I loved all of it, but if I had to choose, that would be it. Also, the very last line: “Goodnight sweetheart, forever and always.”

And your grammar and sentence structure was perfect too ^_^

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that your story was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Judging from the comments, everyone before me already made it perfectly clear. Still, I’ve got to say it. You did a brilliant job with this. I particularly liked the way you wrote it, with the repeats of “It was always his hand in hers” and of “Goodnight sweetheart”. I hope you keep writing, and I’d be interested to read more of your stuff.

This was very touching, I've known a lot of people who suffer with this and to read something so beautifully written it almost gave me tears. Although it is indeed well written, sometimes it was hard to follow along who was dying until it happened at the end. I do love it though.

This has me in tears, and i would first like to say I'm so sorry for your loss. That is never an easy thing to go through.
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was little, so I know the pain that this disease brings, both to the sick and to the family. I appreciate the fact that you wrote about this topic, and especially in such a beautiful way. The repeating of the first and last lines of the paragraphs was such a simple yet powerful element that added so much emotion and dynamic to the story.
I can feel the emotion that you put into this, and especially sharing such a personal part of yourself through writing is admirable. Continue writing, because you are truly a gifted person.

I can really relate to you and your narrator, as I've lost my love to cancer a few years ago. Your writing is very descriptive, and perfectly so. You begin to pick up on whenever the narrator says "it was always his hand and hers," something was going to happen and it signified a change in time without you ever needing to say so. Your writing is absolutely beautiful and it made me cry.

Wow. This was amazing. First off, I'd like to say that I'm sorry for your loss and I'm going to pray for your grandmother and your aunt. Breast cancer runs in my family, so I know how it feels. Second, this was very sad to read but sweet. Your original metaphors were on point and I'm sure your Aunt Julie would love to read this if she could. Stay strong!

This is absolutely beautiful. Stories almost never make me cry and this did. My grandpa and my uncle had cancer, and this story was really moving. I'm sorry for your loss. Great job on this one shot. I'm speechless.

Wow. Every time I log on here I swear I'm not gonna cry and then you guys keep sending me so much love and then I'm tearing up again. Getting such positive feedback is new to me and I'm glad my story was able to come across the way it does. I know a lot of people when they write angry or sad or even both it turns out messy and hard to follow, so I am beyond words happy that people were able to see what I was trying to portray. Your comment has left me with the biggest smile and in tears, thank you thank you thank you a thousand times over. Hug

    God Bless

This is probably one of the most powerful, heart wrenching stories I have ever come across. It takes a really special type of person to be able to not only go through something as tragic as having a loved one taken from you, but then to write about it in such a beautiful way. You've really touched me and, by the looks of it, the other readers of this story in a way that is rare and incredible. You are fantastic, and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and the things you are going through.
