Oh wow, I really enjoyed this piece. The detail in the story, especially with how Alan felt about cutting himself I thought was really well done, you captured that gut-wrenching emotion of having to admit something you don't necessarily want to but might feel like you have to, y'know? The repetition of the inhale exhale was so well done and realistic, it really added to the story. I had one constructive criticism: I thought it was a little unrealistic that the couple would engage in what seemed to be lust driven sex after Alan admits about his cutting, I would have suspected something more tender? However, this is your story and I appreciate the direction you went with.
All in all, I enjoyed reading this!
