Here judging the round 2 entries for Sixth Time's the Charm!
Crime is kind of my genre, so when I read the opening line, I was absolutely delighted. I truly believe that certain people are beyond remorse and you show that so beautifully in several of the characters you introduce from the prison. The minds of people who don't feel any guilt for what they have done have always intrigued me more than those who do and I fond myself reading on to learn more about those characters. In a way, I don't think that the narrator was much better because although they did murder some absolute scumbags, I doubt they'll feel remorse for doing so. It really interests me that in the very last line, you've touched on that a little. I'd definitely like to read more about the way his mind processes that in the future, but for now, it's left me feeling very sad for him.
The layout was a little difficult to read, but aside from that, I have no complaints. This was a really thought-provoking and interesting piece!
