I'm not casting any stones. My SO is my college roommate's hometown-then-cross-state boyfriend's roommate's friend; for a little while, I had dated her boyfriend's roommate before that. And my college roommate eventually ended up dating and marrying her hometown boyfriend's OTHER roommate some time after the romance with her hometown boyfriend imploded. It all sounds practically incestuous (except how none of us are related) but being in the same circle of friends certainly can make it easier to get to know someone; there's no way I'd have met the SO except through mutual friends since we lived in different cities over an hour apart.
It's just that it's probably a little different when some in the circle have a lot of money/fame in terms of trying to figure out people's intention in being their friend. I'm sure assumptions are often made about women who enter the circle since the guys are used to being chased for their money and fame.January 3rd, 2014 at 02:35pm -

I don't want it to come across puck bunny but I'm certain that it has it's connotations. Mike is addressed more later so hopefully that is cleared up a bit, but it's my intention that Brandon is the only player in her five years in Chicago that she dated. Your friends with these people and the proximity is what comes into play in my mind. Although certainly in real life there are definitely situations where is a girl hopping from guy to guy.
I have a friend at my husbands volunteer fire department that was friends with a girl dating one of our guys. Because the girls were so close, she hung out with us and eventually started seeing one of the guys. It didn't last and she started dating one of the other guys, who she is marrying in June. I don't think anything differently of her. For me, I think it's easier to find someone within the ranks of people you know than anything else.January 3rd, 2014 at 12:23pm -
I…am unsure as to how I feel about Carcillo the player and I know nothing about Carcillo the person. It's got to be difficult being a 3rd or 4th liner grit player, only spending 2-3 years with a club before being traded. That said, I can't wait to see where you take this! I gotta wonder, though; wouldn't players consider her a puck bunny since she's had at least two player BFs and has ingratiated herself to others? Or is it more of a proximity thing? There's a lot of interdating going on in many circles of friends, I guess that NHL players could be similar in that.January 3rd, 2014 at 03:50am

I don't know if I can do that....especially if it's the Bristol/Carcillo stuff that's your fave.
I've repeated Weber, Carcillo, and Kane. They each have two unrelated universes to live in. Everyone else just repeats in their own worlds.January 2nd, 2014 at 05:23am -
@ midnightmssuki
As long as you know it. I'm wondering I'd you can top my favorite carcillo trilogy with this story.
He finds his way in and never leaves, I swear. I know you have repeated webs, who else?(I saw your kid line last night haha.)January 2nd, 2014 at 03:58am -
@ Ladyfiaran
Everyone needs more Carbomb in their life, of this I am certain. I wouldn't call myself a music geek but I have wide ranging tastes myself. I put a few musical references through the story too.January 2nd, 2014 at 03:31am -

I would expect nothing less of your expectations. ;)
You know I have lots of feelings for Carcillo so when he got all up in my head and wouldn't go away, well, something had to be done. It's my second go round writing Carcillo; I think he will be the third player I've repeated. This will be longer than the two shot the other one is, I can promise you that.January 2nd, 2014 at 03:28am -
Sick and browsing stories and what do I find but Carcillo so I click it. HATE his team with a passion but have a soft spot for him, then I come to comment and see its written by you, the bar is set high my friend.January 2nd, 2014 at 02:20am

If I came across defensive, that's my bad because it wasn't my intention. I met my SO through my then college boyfriend who was friends with a guy who was friends with him (if that made any sense). I agree that in the circles of professional athletes and the like, it probably is harder to suss out someone's intentions. Maybe once one guy vets out a girl and finds them to be a person who isn't after the money/fame, they just keep them around until they find the right person to match them up with. Maybe it's some weird version of the dating game....which now kind of gives me a story idea.
