I get why Sid is edgy . In the last chapter, It was almost like Erin was holding returning to Pittsburgh over his head and that if Sid made one wrong move, she would change her mind and stay in Nashville. I do think that has changed somewhat. Erin senses Sid's uneasiness and tries to reinforce that she has made her decision and is committed to that decision. Erin is stubborn and now that she has told her family - especially her brother and father - I would think things would have to get pretty bad in Pittsburgh for her to admit she was wrong - and they were right - and return to Nashville.
Sid keeps telling himself - and others - that Erin is coming back to Pittsburgh, not back to him. But it still doesn't stop him from wanting and hoping for more. I find it heartbreaking that he will still tell Erin that he loves her, but she will only respond "I know". She knows she still loves him - it is too bad that she cant tell him that. Yes there is a lot of hurt and a lot of pain to work through, but Erin DOES love Sid.
And I really hope she leaves Declan in the rear view mirror when she leaves Nashville!
Not sure why I didn't get this update in my email. Oh well, I found you anyway:) Healing this family certainly has been a painful process. Love your writing:)
