I think Robin may have given Erin a dose of reality. I think she may have enlightened Erin to the fact that marriage is an on-going process - that it requires a lot of work, even under the most ideal situations. And while it was easy for Erin to blame Sidney for not being there for her and communicating to her, Robin pointed out that Erin never really actively fought for her marriage. She never took steps to try and rectify the difficulties they were experiencing. She left and just let the relationship die.
I did think it was great of Troy to sympathize with Erin's plight. It would have been very easy for him to blame her for all that Sid is going through, but he didn't. He laid the blame squarely at Sid's feet - both the reasons for the split and the resulting destructive actions.
Now the ball is back in Erin's court. She has to decide where her heart lies and then try and build on that.
I really hope that her heart leads her straight back to Pittsburgh.
Progress takes time. But I promise it will come.
