@ polishpearlsparis My advisor at school helped me, so I don't really know the whole process, it's cool, I had a lot too hahaha... Um, I actually had Marc-Andre Fleury as a reference, I've known him since like 2003, he's actually the one who got me hooked on the sport lolz and then I had a reference from Gerry Helper who is the VP for PR and Comm for the Predators, he is actually my roommates, in school, uncle(its all about people u know and making connections) he took me on a tour of the Bridgestone arena and I had him explain his job to me to see if I really want to pursue it and it was awesome! .. Yea it was hard, I was gunna go to Pittsburgh but they weren't offering housin and only paying like $8.50 and that would not let me live in Pitt for 4 months... Chicago was giving me housing and money for food, but anything personal I would have to pay on my own... They give u this really nice studio apartment that their interns live in and even some of their trades, they stay there until they have a place to live, it's downtown, walking distance from the united center =) I'm really excited
Did you submit your education resume through the front office or through their listed internships? Sorry I have so many questions I'm just very interested. Did you do anything special with your schooling or activities that made your resume stand out? That must have been a very difficult choice to choose between all of those teams. Have fun. :)
@ polishpearlsparis No I go to the University of Tennessee, I major in Public Relations and Communications and minor in business and sport management... I put my education resume out to all of the nhl corporations and got accepted into Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville and Dallas' internship programs... So I had to choose one and it took me forever, but some were paying but no housing, while some were no pay and with housing or like Toronto and Montreal where they offered nothing... So like I was stuck between Chicago, Boston and Pittsburgh but chose Chicago bc they were offering me housin and paying for meals
Loved the update and congrats on the internship. You are so lucky. Did you just apply fmtbrough the NHL or a different site? Curious as to what your major is too be because that is what I want to get into with an organization in the future.
