Facepalm I remember. lol I'll check those out. I was surching songs on youtube, last week, and I found this song that I've been abusing the replay button, on. The song is All of Me by John Legend & Lindsey Stirling... I'll admit to imagining Gabriel and Angie together, with this song playing in the backround.

Like I would even dangle such a thread without delivering at least a little something! Not right away of course, gotta think aboout this one a bit...

If you remember, Dark Side was was Angies song at the pool party. :3

Fun fact: Gabriel's playlist is a real thing. I made one for him and one for Angie. I listen to his songs when writing him.
During the part where everyone was having naughty dreams I was listening to Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love
During the part where Gabriel confesses I was listening to Meat Loaf - It Just Won't Quit
The Savage Garden song he was listening to is I Want You.
Maybe I'll post the whole list one day...
The first song on Gabriel's playlist is OK Go - Invincible because it reminds him of Angie.

    Edit: wrong Robert Palmer song...

~~ tehe Girl, you are making me blush even more at the thought of such a dream...don't you even dare tease!

As far as Dark Gabriel goes, if he were only a simple good-doer all the time, he'd be a boring and shallow character. Having a dark side adds excitement, mystery and depth--sexiness to his character. Hmm... Think Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson just popped in my head all randomly...
I like finding songs that fit with what's happening in the story I'm reading. Although, I'm sure there might be a better song to fit then that one, maybe.

Maybe I'll add some more chapters to Nora's side story... ~_^

Thanks for coming out and admitting you like DarkGabriel a bit because he has both light and dark sides. The light side might look like it's reigning most of the time, but it doesn't chase away the shadows. I think in order for someone to truly like Gabriel as a character they have to like all his sides. That's my own opinion though, so FWIW...

Hmm... Gabriel and Angie AND Kieran.... That just might replace Gabriel/Kieran as my favorite crack pairing. (Except I don't even think it can be considered a CRACK pairing at this point <_<) Might have to write out another dream sequence... >_>

  • I agree with EdgeOfTheSea, and for me... I think Gabriel's actions were both a bit dark and a bit funny, but not gonna lie... I enjoyed it in the dark kind of way. ;) (ugh, that was hard for me to admit, because I've always gone for the 'light' side... lol) Not to mention, that he totaly sounded like he was up for a threesome with Angie and Kieran. blahhh Embarassed

...love the truthful bluntness of your new book tittles, by the way.

Also, as far as the whole Nora and Dexter relationship goes... I would totaly want see more of them to see how those two would work things out, especially as I love teacher/student stories, however I'm afraid it would take away form Angie and Gabriel's story. So... you can make a seperate, kind of spinoff story for them, while hinting at a little something-something between them in Project Vampire. It coul be called... 'Project Teacher and His Wildly Inappropriate Sexy Fantasies with Vampire Student' ... or something like that. ;)

  • I think I'm gonna change all the titles for the books now:

    VL1 - Angie Can't Catch a Break
VL2 - Angie Can't Catch a Break in Paris Either
VL3 - Angie Can't Catch a Break and Loses Her House
    PV1 - Angie's Father Can't Even Give Her a Break
PV2 - Angie Will Never Get a Break, Especially in Love

Enjoy in a dark kind of way? Or were they just funny?

  • God, Angie just can't catch a break! Though I personally enjoyed Gabriel's actions. ;)

    Haha! Poor Gabriel.

Yes, I do love that they don't stop being themselves even when love is mixed in.

Also I think we can forgive Gabriel for being a bit preoccupied with lust right now. It HAS been about five decades...

Ahahaha, patience... we're getting there. Still about 15 - 20 chapters to go. Baby steps...

My favorite thing about these two is that they've been growing and developing and even though they're becoming closer, they're still themselves. They don't become sweet and gushy just because of their feelings. They're both very stubborn and they snark at each other. Their banter doesn't automatically go out the window even though they have hearts in their eyes, so to speak.

That's not to say that they'll never say any of those intimate loving words, they'll just do it in their own way. ^_^

  • I enjoy the sexyness, but I think he's still holding back his feelings by only talking sexual attraction. Granted, he also was sporting a hard on at the time. But they both haven't said any intimate loving words yet. Still so stubborn haha

Nora is mad because she's only seeing this situation from the outside and to her it looks like Angie's been pushing down her feelings for Gabriel, burying them because she feels Gabriel could never feel anything for her. Nora thinks that is entirely due to Gabriel not voicing his feelings, she doesn't know the whole situation.

You raise all valid points. This a tough, convoluted situation and I want to make sure I cover all the nuances of it, as a writer. Let me see if I can explain it from my omniscient view.

Angie is upset because Gabriel pretty much admitted to liking her for half a year without saying anything (since book 2). And it's more than him just being silent about it, because she felt for a long time that he saw her as a terrible annoyance and he didn't bother correcting that assumption. It was only after the house burned down that she started to wonder about why he was still around. Then book 4 happened and it really seemed that he was going to admit he liked her, even she had an inkling about it. But then he drank fey blood and has become paranoid about his influence running amok, so he started avoiding her. Angie sees this and feels like she's getting jerked around. She has no idea why he's doing any of what he's doing, because he just won't talk about it.

As far as Gabriel's fear of rejection, Angie feels (falsely) that he wouldn't have any such fears like that. She's so hurt over her own feelings, she's not thinking about his, and she's going to have to deal with that later. (Next chapter). She doesn't realize that the careless comment she made at the concert DID affect him. At the time she was just out of the hospital and confused as to why he even came after her. Gabriel took the comment as an insult but Angie was using it to voice her confusion. She said "aren't you, like, a million years older than me?" But she meant "aren't you, like, a million years older than me? Why are you acting this way over some kid?" She told Arthur that Gabriel's age didn't matter to her. She is also aware of how young she is and how little experience she has.

  • I'm a little confused as to why everyone is mad at Gabriel. I understand that he likes Angie and had an inkling she liked him, but that still doesn't mean that the fear of rejection isn't present. And it's a valid fear. Angie feels it too. I mean, shit, she kicked Gabriel in the gut essentially at Desyre's concert with her 'you're so much older' comment.

Nora done shut him down. She was all like *drops mic, walks off stage*

I think I have found a new game to play, in which I try to find ways to keep flustering Dexter Barnes. It's way too fun.

And honestly, if Gabriel had just been honest with Angie, he wouldn't be going through this now. Angie wanted to get back at him, and she kinda did without realizing it. Still, next chapter is gonna be fun.

Originally, way back in book 2's planning phase, Kieran was kind of a minor villian. With his pursuit of Angie. There's a deleted scene where Angie punches him in the face. After I started writing him though, he changed to this somewhat aggressively sexy guy, but who was also very laid back and easy going. I'm glad we're back in Paris so I can show more of his character. (Eventually all of Kieran's asshole traits got recycled into Jackson Lake. Which I guess makes Jackson the anti-Kieran)

*sighs* do you think I should write more Dexter and Nora in the next chapter? I'm not sure how much more the poor guy can take...

  • Dang... Gabriel, Nora shure guilt-tripped him!

My, oh, my! Mr. Barnes has been inadvertently stealing inappropriate looks at Nora! Tsk! ...I love it! hehe

Poor Gabriel, though I can say he kinda deserves it, a bit. That's what he gets for eavesdropping, especially at the wrong time!

Kieran is so very arrogantly cute and sexy, in his own way.
