Wow. You certainly know how to make a girl cry; that's for sure. I loved the depth in this story. Too often people think about short stories as things that don't require detail or characterization, and I absolutely abhor that mindset. It appears that you do to, haha.
I really appreciate how realistic this was. No one grieves for a day, a week, or even just a year at the loss of someone they truly cared about, and I believe that you captured that very accurately.
One thing that I think could have been improved was the story of her parents. Like, the ending was nice, to have her dad there again, but him leaving or the trouble with her mother were never explained to a point of understanding.
Overall, you should be incredibly proud of this story. Great work! :)
