As much as everything seemed so dark for Sid when Kate was gone, it was interesting that once she returned, all seemed right with the world. That despite the devastating loss the night before, the sun shone brightly in the morning offering a new beginning for these two. Hell, he was even ready to introduce her to his parents. I am assuming his parents were staying at a hotel, or things may have been a little awkward around the breakfast table - especially if the walls were thin!
While I don't think all their problems were miraculously solved, it just seemed that Sid was much more equipped to deal with everything as long as he had Kate to come home to.
And yes, no matter who you are and what you have, "the heart wants what the heart wants"!
it is amazing that with all that he has in his life - hockey, teammates, family - nothing works without Kate. No matter where Sid is, or what he does, everything seems to come back to her.
I am always so sad when I read about a character having a miscarriage - it can be so absolutely devastating. I actually never thought about this eventuality in the story.
I think Sid made the right decision - at least for now. He has to concentrate on the playoffs and Kate has given him way more than he can handle right now. Sid has to find a way to compartmentalize his feelings for the time being and once the playoffs are over, perhaps revisit things.
Kate owes him at least that, after what she has put him through.
I cant believe she just left when he told her to go. She obviously knew that he would be hostile when she arrived, but she had enough resolve to travel 5 hours to see him.
I think she is still around and will make another attempt - or Sid will figure out where she is and go to her. There is no way he can block out the nagging question - "Why did she come back".
It has to be pretty big to come in person, or she would have just sent a message.
Oh, I have always felt it was Sid's baby....so either her husband found out about the affair and kicked her out or when she got the gift from Sid she felt so guilty that she finally had to confess to him about the baby's parentage.
@ Ekangb Didn't mean to be pushy...but I am really glad that you updated.
Still thinking that what Natalie did was wrong on so many levels. It is not up to an Intern to "befriend" patients. She should keep a professional distance. And I agree, she should be more adept at reading people.
I wasn't even sure that the "closure"gift would be the best idea. It may be regarded as an attempt to make contact, or conversely, a mocking of sorts. At the very least, it is almost like picking off the scab of a wound that had started to heal.
But Kate showing up after Sid sent the gift....wow. Didn't see that coming!
Will be here whenever you have time to post! Lovin' every minute of it.
