really, really, really good. You're very talented. I feel ages below you in terms of ability. What a unique thing to write. I love it.March 18th, 2015 at 02:51am

@ nearly witches.
Aww, thank you.
Yeah I feel you, my silly laptop likes to eat comments and 404 webpages constantly ://August 27th, 2014 at 07:57pm -
I'm here jusging the short stories section of my pre-writes contest!
This is so unique and unusual and as always, I absolutely love the way that you write. I'm not usually one for stories that contain only dialogue, but this works and it does so well. The strained relationship between Peters and the supercomputer is light-hearted at first, but when it becomes evident that they're both going to die, it suddenly becomes very desperate and strained and I love that sudden change. Peters' desire to hear some rational human thought is what I would assume would be totally natural in that situation and I'd also reckon that only hearing a computerised countdown and small anecdotes would be more terrifying than the actual impending doom itself. And the fact that the computer was off when it came to time okay so I read the other comments is such a humorous little undertone to something that overall, has a sense of dread and helplessness oozing from the final few sentences. It's such a beautiful way to end it, really.
Aside from this all, I can relate to Peters' struggle to get XC to do anything because I have that struggle nearly every day with this bloody laptop so I can empathise with him so much. This is such a unique and interesting story, awesome job!August 27th, 2014 at 11:32am -

Thank you!July 16th, 2014 at 03:47am -
I love the dialogue only writing. I didn't expect the computer to have relevant thoughts. This is really interesting and unlike anything I've ever read. It really caught my mind and made me think. The second chapter was so simple and just ended the story with ease, love it.July 16th, 2014 at 03:41am

@ cola frank.
Thanks! Yeah, it's complete, no big deal.
I never planned to make it dialogue-only, it just sort of happened.June 21st, 2014 at 04:30am -
Okay, I just read the comments and realized that it's a completed story. I feel really dumb. But like I said, amazing work.June 21st, 2014 at 04:05am

This is really incredible and not like anything I've ever read on mibba. I'm giving it a recc because it deserves it and subbing because I can't wait to see what happens next.
I really liked your dialogue. Some writers use too much and it just seems like filler dialogue, but yours was interesting and relevant.
I also like how you ended the first chapter. The reader has no idea what happens next so it's a great cliff hanger. I also love how you made the second chapter just three lines of dialogue. I don't know. I just thought that was so interesting.
I love this story so much.June 21st, 2014 at 04:03am -
@ vices
yes thank you uwu
basically. peters and xc are buds. that ain't normal.
yeah, basically the last chapter was to show that even computers can be wrong. xc's timer was off. they died anyway. xxJune 19th, 2014 at 10:36pm -
okay i love this
i feel like while the computer was not the central point of this story, it brings to mind a warning of artificial intelligence and sheds a light on how much we depend on technology to live
and the second chapter, wow
i love that quote

@ laredo.
Goodness thank you! The layout to Threshold was twice as odd as this one and you got that one alright
Yes, XC is his supercomputer. c:
Thanks again! It's only a one-shot though~June 17th, 2014 at 06:33am -
First off, it just took me five minutes to figure out why you would have me comment on an unwritten story. I'm just not the sharpest crayon on the box, apparently but after that, I really love this, because your stories have such a sense of personality. They're unique and they rival the stories of published writers, because they are things I've never read before and they keep me interested the entire time I'm reading them.
The dialogue in this one in particular is wonderful and it drives the story in a way that isn't cheesy or forced, so I liked that a lot. The interaction between the man and his (I'm assuming?) computer is kind of funny and I could imagine this in real-time, a man yelling at his computer and what not.

@ charity_hope
That sounds amazing. I'm a bit of a science nerd so things like this actually interest me.
Do! I am in love with the music. ♥June 10th, 2014 at 04:23pm -
It is... if you're interested in small electronic components. Like... we learn about transistors and capacitors and PMOS and NMOS and CMOS and chips... basically. It's called integrated circuit.
Ah... maybe I'll check him out.June 10th, 2014 at 02:21pm -
Coooool. Is it interesting? It sounds interesting.
He is the cutie my theme is based off of. A musical artist. :3June 9th, 2014 at 08:00pm -
@ C418
Ah yes... genetic engineering is interesting. But I'm stuck with Microelectronic Engineering.
You're welcome. And I still don't know who/what is C418.June 9th, 2014 at 02:27pm -
@ charity_hope
I love genetic engineering, software dev, and astrophysics, but I don't think I am smart enough for any of them!
Thank you! I don't think so, but thank you anyways. You don't sound like a creep, I am a creep. I am stalking every interview of C418 ever recorded on YouTube and doing the squee face because adorable.June 9th, 2014 at 07:53am
oh dear, but it's so old
i don't write much like this anymore
thank you so much, though
