I want to cling to Wes in the water are you kidding me. Also, the part where she was like "The lovely people here enjoy the less populated feel" I was literally dying because Ames is like no no go away. And where she mentioned the ocean eating her because I almost spit out my drink at that one.

Okay seriously though I love how even though Wes makes Ames super nervous, she's still sort of sassy with him. I would be the same way, honestly.

Let me start off by saying I'm really into this story. It's definitely not my usual material for reading, so you've managed to pleasantly surprise me.
Although I would like more details at parts (what the sand felt like underfoot, how it felt to drown, the way things smell, taste, etc.), I think that the way you've written it REALLY well supports your storyline and writing style. Very well-paced, interesting, and even emotional. I would definitely recommend this to a friend - and I will most certainly be following along as you write it!
