Lilith/Cain - Comments

You know, after binge-reading the entire series all over again over the span of two or three weeks, I am really sad that the story is over. And I've been having weird dreams where Evangeline and Gabriel's shenanigans continue.

Oh, dude. I didn't cry physically, but my heart did. It seemed like it ended all too easily, but Cain does sound really crazy... Anyway. I'll reread a lot to gather more in my head what these two look like, 'cause the memories are fuzzy. And then I'll get to doodling.

Just got all caught up with the chapter. Also, I've been really busy with work. Dx And my art skills have diminished, so I haven't drawn anything.

The third book is all ready to be published, except for the lack of cover art. :(
As much as I adore Emma Glaze's wonderful covers, I might have to think about hiring a new cover artist.

It was a pleasure catching up after finishing rereading (for the third time mind you) The Paris Escapade! Can't wait for the next update, and also can't wait for the next book to be published! (I enjoy reading them at work on my breaks.)

Why thank you! Though I'm not doing this on purpose or anything. I don't sit down and try to make a character a statement. I just try to make interesting and real characters that are all different from each other. I don't want my characters to look or sound the same, not when there is just so many options out there.

Having all of these different personalities mixes things up. Some personalities clash, others bond. I love all types of relationships, the good and the bad. I think my favorite thing is exploring those interactions.

So something like sexual preference is kind of a by-product, not intended in the beginning, but something that comes from exploring a character's personality. Callie and Sybil are made for each other because Callie used her powers for herself for once and set out to find that one perfect person just for her. Kieran flirts shamelessly, but the ones that really touch his heart are the ones that manage to see past his cheerful facade. Ricky fell for his best friend at first sight, but really came to love him over time, and Steven decided that sparing everyone's feelings only made things more difficult and chose the person that he would be most happy with.

And then there are the characters that no one is really sure about, and that's all right. That part is intentional. I dislike 'straight' as being the 'default'. Straight is an option just like everything else. A character doesn't have to be completely stereotypical before a reader thinks they might be gay or straight, or bi or pan, or anything. The characters are not defined by their sexuality, but the other characters they interact with, and they choices they make.

Basically I'm a Shipper's best friend. I should have a catchphrase 'For Shippers, by Shippers'.

You demonstrate the sexual orientation spectrum in this series perfectly. No one blatantly says, "I'm gay." It is alluded to for a second and then the story moves on. It isn't a huge deal, it is just like mentioning their hair color, and it isn't clear-cut labels. I LOVE that and I love you ;D
