Glad they got that first kiss out of the way. I'm sure there's more to come. I'm glad that you bring up the topic of faith in this chapter because like many have said, no one really talks about religion or anything about the church in their fan fics. I'm definitely interested to see what you come up with next!
Oh, I love this chapter. I had a favorite part, when she was describing who she wanted to come home to. But then there was tatoo of the birds flying free. Then there was the kissing part. Then there was seeing more of her layers. And of course the way she/you describes beautiful James Neal. So yeah, I loved all of it!!!!
Can't wait for Tessa's visit (and Lennon's!!!!) I think James is fooling himself. He thinks it's ok to act like that with Tessa because of their history but the rules have changed. She needs to put a firm stop to it. Flirting with him is not ok. She needs to demonstrate her commitment to Paul. This visit should be interesting. The church going southern Nashville folks might not be as accepting of the polygamous relationship even if it's in the past. Bring on that drama! Happy New Year!
I think given their history, it would be hard for James not to be himself around Tessa. Yeah it's a little weird the way their conversation went especially with Rich around but like you said in a previous comment, once they find closure then it shouldn't be a problem. I definitely can't wait for some drama!
I thought it was kind of cute how James was just anxiously waiting for Delilah to call him back, checking his messages and everything. I don't think he's really used to that. I know that not everyone will approve of James previous poly relationship but I do hope that most of his close friends will understand.
Great chapter as always. Looking forward to the next one!
@ midnightmssuki Ican only imagine what google drive looks for you with u finished ideas. It probably looks like a minefield. Oh my... I look forward to what happens.
@ DaniSayWhat? Oh no, it's definitely inappropriate. Their exes but friends so to that end, it's just kind of a running thing, what they've always done but if he's going to date someone else, it won't fly. Who is going to understand and just be okay with it? For that matter, how long will Paul put up with it? I think James is ready to move on but he also hasn't completley let go, and neither has Tessa. They need closure and they need to realize that the way they interact with each other has to change. But first, drama!
@ dogandbutterfly I can't take complete credit for the church idea (and there is still more to it...). My husband actually came up with the idea for the character. I just brought her to life. I know it may be sensitive to some, or even a turnoff to the story, but I hope everyone will give it a chance and let it play out. It's not unheard of that these guys have a belief in God or some level of faith. I've seen WAGS tweet or Instagram faith based things also. But tackling it in fiction is certainly new territory for me and not something I recall reading before here.
@ defaultmemory I have recently struggled with some other stories I've been working on so I'm not posting as frequently but I won't abandon this.
Tessa's visit (plus a brief visit from Lennon!) is going top open a whole new can of worms for James to navigate.
I honest to goodness don't know how I feel about that conversation between Tess and James. Like, it's a little borderline inappropriate given the circumstances? IDK. Maybe it's just me? Like...draw the line somewhere? Cause while I think Delilah may be cool with the situation, phone calls like that can't continue if he's gonna want it to work with her...
Anyway, as always, a fabulous update. I like that she's church involved....there's not a lot of fics out there that tackle that.
Yay for the update! And maybe this will make me unpopular, but yay for church, too! Holidays are busy, no problem (well, maybe the work part!). Hope yours were good. Looking forward to more!!
Who doesn't have cable?! What a goober haha Seems to me like Delilah would be OK with the whole Tess thing (or at least I hope so cause I'll be very sad if she gets all judgy haha)
