The I was put there on purpose since she was the one watching people. Rereading it, I see now it looks odd but I'm not entirely sure how to reword it.

I is not needed. That was the only typo I found.

I liked this because so simple and yet it put a smile on my face. You started off with what people usually do when they wake up, just a normal day turned to a funny day and meeting a new love interest on top of that and with that way. The whole thing is a perfect match for your layout, so don't doubt it.
